Autism Society of American - Central Oklahoma
The Autism Society of Central Oklahoma was created in 1983 as a grassroots support group called the OKC Chapter for Autistic Citizens. In 1985, the group was incorporated as an official chapter of the Autism Society of America. In the year 2000, our name was changed to reflect a larger community, The Autism Society of Central Oklahoma.
Our members include parents, professionals and other interested members of the public, as well as people with autism. We are dedicated to the education and welfare of all people with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders. We are here to help and support people with autism, and their families. We support legislation that expands and improves services for people with autism.
We are a nonprofit tax-exempt organization. We do not require membership for services or for meeting attendance. We do request that those interested in supporting us do so by becoming members of the national organization. Please visit Autism Society of America for more information on becoming a member.
We raise funds solely through donations, an annual symposium, and semiannual merchandise opportunities.
